Neutron irradiation of SmFeAsO1−xFx
نویسندگان
چکیده
SmFeAsO1−xFx was irradiated in a fission reactor by a fast (E > 0.1 MeV) neutron fluence of 4 × 1021 m−2. The introduced defects increased the normal state resistivity due to a reduction in the mean free path of the charge carriers. This leads to an enhancement of the upper critical field at low temperatures. The critical current density within the grains, Jc, increases upon irradiation. The second maximum in the field dependence of Jc disappears and the critical current density becomes a monotonically decreasing function of the applied magnetic field. Disorder effects and current percolation in FeAs-based superconductors
We report the influence of atomic disorder introduced by sequential neutron irradiation on the basic superconducting properties, flux pinning and grain connectivity. Two different polycrystalline Sm-1111 samples (SmFeAsO1−xFx ) and two Ba-122 single crystals (BaFe1.8Co0.2As2) were investigated. The monotonic decrease of the transition temperature with neutron fluence degrades the upper critical...
متن کاملCoexistence of magnetic fluctuations and superconductivity in the pnictide high temperature superconductor SmFeAsO1-xFx measured by muon spin rotation.
Muon spin rotation experiments were performed on the pnictide high temperature superconductor SmFeAsO1-xFx with x=0.18 and 0.3. We observed an unusual enhancement of slow spin fluctuations in the vicinity of the superconducting transition which suggests that the spin fluctuations contribute to the formation of an unconventional superconducting state. An estimate of the in-plane penetration dept...
متن کاملAnisotropic phase diagram and superconducting fluctuations of single - crystalline
We report on the specific-heat determination of the anisotropic phase diagram of single crystals of optimally doped SmFeAsO1-xFx. In zero field, we find a clear cusplike anomaly in C/T with ΔC/Tc=24 mJ/mol K2 at Tc=49.5 K. In magnetic fields along the c axis, pronounced superconducting fluctuations induce broadening and suppression of the specific-heat anomaly which can be described using three...
متن کاملEffect of hyperthermia before Neutron irradiation on chromosomal damages of human lymphocytes
Due to importance of combination therapies in cancer treatment, this study was performed to find the effects of hyperthermia and neutron irradiation and heir combination on the human lymphocytes. Blood samples were treated separately with 41.5 °C for 30 and 60 minutes, 43 °C for 15 and 30 minutes, as well as 10 cGy neutron irradiation. They also treated with hyperthermia followed by irradiation...
متن کاملComparative high-field magnetotransport of the oxypnictide superconductors RFeAsO1−xFx (R=La, Nd) and SmFeAsO1−
We compare magnetotransport of the three iron-arsenide-based compounds ReFeAsO Re=La, Sm, Nd in very high DC and pulsed magnetic fields up to 45 and 54 T, respectively. Each sample studied exhibits a superconducting transition temperature near the maximum reported to date for that particular compound. While high magnetic fields do not suppress the superconducting state appreciably, the resistiv...
